Some of the world’s best freestyle kiteboarders – 68 of them in fact – will be heading to New Caledonia next month to compete for the final and deciding round of the 016 World Kiteboarding League (WKL).
From 14 to 20 December, 2016 the regional town of Poé, located on New Caledonia’s west coast just outside of Bourail, will be buzzing, as the kiteboarders compete for the crown in both the ‘freestyle’ and ‘big air’ disciplines.
New Caledonia Tourism’s Australian sales and marketing director, Caroline Brunel said New Caledonia Tourism is really excited to host the 2016 WKL tournament and collaborate with event organisers to entice more kitesurfers.
“Through this partnership we will leverage WKL’s strong reputation within this community and position New Caledonia as a leading kiteboarding destination not only in the South Pacific, but the world,” Ms Brunel said.
“Where else can you combine such perfect conditions and backdrops with authentic French dining; cosmopolitan nightlife; Melanesian culture and endless soft adventure activities? New Caledonia truly is a holiday destination where you can have it all.”
