Rosehill Gardens Racecourse will once again host Santa for a BIG family friendly Christmas Festival – The Sydney Santa Spectacular – from 7-27 December 2018.
The three-week festivities feature Australia’s only double-decker carousel – a vintage beauty of 10,000 moving pieces that has been painstakingly hand-restored to take pride of place alongside show-ride favourites including the Cha, Wave Swinger, Red Baron Flyer, Circus Train, Teacups, Sea Circus Fun House and Australia’s biggest inflatable world.
The event also offers unlimited rides, a toboggan slide, live stage entertainment, a glittering Santa’s Enchanted Forest with live snowfall, Christmas cookie-decorating workshops, reindeer ride-on training stables, interactive costume characters, fairy reading-times, live carolling, face-painting, special Santa meet-and-greets and much more.
New for 2018 will be a Polar Bear playground complete with snowballs for kids to play in, as well as putt putt golf and one of Australia’s largest portable ice skating rinks
“Tickets are on-sale now and are already selling like gangbusters. We live and breathe Christmas year-round, so it’s exciting to see other people embracing our event and getting into the Christmas spirit. By getting in now, Christmas-lovers can ensure they secure the day and session they’d like – with a few sessions already close to selling out,” says Jade Evans, Co-founder/Owner of Sydney Santa Spectacular, who organises the event alongside her husband Josh, six kids and a team of tight-knit family and friends.
With a strong emphasis on value-for-money for families, event organisers have created a flat-priced golden entry ticket ($41),which entitles all festivalgoers to unlimited rides, activities, entertainment and free parking over a three-hour session.
“Even in the years prior to founding the Sydney Santa Spectacular, my husband Josh and I were obsessed with Christmas. We have six young kids, so we know how expensive it can be to take a big family to a special event – especially at a pricey time like Christmas. We don’t want anyone to miss out, so we make sure the ticketing is great value and affordable,” adds Jade Evans.
“All rides and parking are included in our tickets – which is awesome value – and while we do sell food and drinks at the event, families can also opt to BYO to make it even more cost-effective.”
Over the past three years, the Sydney Santa Spectacular team has hand-delivered more than 9,000 presents from under the giving tree to the Sydney Children’s Hospital and Westmead Children’s Hospital, and Evans hopes to push that number even higher in 2018.
“Last year was our biggest year of gift giving – we gave out close to 5,000 gifts from that one year alone. And we’d like to see that grow even more this year. Being able to play Mr & Mrs Claus loading up the Team Santa van and delivering the gifts to the sick kids is the highlight of the event for our team and family,” says Evans.
