Scotland’s exclusive small ship cruise company, Majestic Line, which sails Scotland’s spectacular west coast and isles of the Outer Hebrides, has announced the addition of a new purpose-built vessel – The Glen Shiel – along with new itineraries. The Glen Shiel has been specifically designed to undertake longer cruises to the very edge of Western Europe and will offer new routes to the Western Outer Hebrides, St Kilda and the stunning North West Mainland Coast from the end of June 2019.
Glen Shiel will complement Majestic Line’s three existing boats with added features such as more powerful engines for faster sailing to new remote destinations and an improved observation saloon for wildlife watching. Accommodation will comprise of seven ensuite double cabins taking up to 12 passengers onboard. She will be finished in traditional wood and brass with a steel based hull, like her sister ship Glen Etive.
Glen Shiel will visit the furthest far flung areas of the West Coast including:
- “North West Coast Wilderness” 10-night cruise through mountainous sea lochs peppered with delightful places such as Torridon, Gairloch, Applecross and Shieldaig and north to the idyllic Summer Isles.
- “Islands on the Edge of Europe” 10-night cruise to the very edge of the Outer Hebrides with stopovers at Barra, Vatersay, Lewis and Harris.
- “Outer Hebrides and St Kilda” 10-night cruises from July 2019 with sister vessel, Glen Etive offering two new “Over the Sea to Skye” 10-night cruises in July and August 2019.
