A marketing image on the boutique property’s website had shown a good looking surfer emerging from the hotel’s pool – with his surfboard!
Granted, The Sofitel LA is, in fact, an elegant and beautiful hotel. However, as Oyster.com revealed, a bit of, *ahem*, creative licence appears to have been applied to the hotel’s website gallery pics for its serene pool area.
In the Los Angeles hotel’s website gallery the skyline vista from the pool area looks like this:
Nobody expects perfection when booking a hostel, the cheaper cost means that everyone expects to make some compromises. However, it is good to know exactly what to expect – and the pool at Hostel El Corazon seems to be a cut above the usual hostel offering…
Let’s face it, we all know that most hotels put their efforts and dollars towards the rooms and the public areas, like the lobby, pool deck, food and beverage outlets and – in some rare cases – the gym.
We’ve said it before, one of the best things about staying in hotels is the expansive bed, with crisp sheets that someone else changes! All that room to stretch out and do as much – or as little – as you please…
Not many of us could afford the opulence of one of the top suites in a hotel. Look at the style and luxury that the Diplomatic Suite at the Centrale Palace Hotel in Sicily offers … large desk, fresh flowers, luxuriously dressed bed, and the occupant has the money to carry a Hermès Birkin bag – even a second hand one costs in excess of $20,000!
So, this looks like a nice pool at the Norfolk Royale in Dorset in England … even if the tight pool crop means you can’t really see that the pool is housed in a lovely conservatory …
While Australian beaches have lovely soft sand, rather than pebbles, you can’t deny that this beach at the La Plage Resort in Sicily looks fabulous! Sparkling water, brilliant blue sky and plenty of room to yourself …
Or not! This is how the beach looked when oyster.com visited. As we’ve seen before, lots of hotels employ this trick … we’re just not sure how they ever manage to clear the beach in order to get the shot that’s NOT full of people!
Well, this one pretty much takes our breath away … but probably not for the reason you’re thinking! The Artisan Hotel in Las Vegas has a ‘topless optional’ pool and would have you believe that two – make that three! – ‘sexy ladies’ lounging around the pool is what to expect.
But once again, oyster.com found a very different reality when they visited. No topless ladies in stilettos, just a leaf-filled pool with a garden hose running into it. This one takes the fakeout to new levels – or perhaps depths!
Apparently Myrtle Beach in South Carolina is a very popular spot … but judging by this photo, it is possible to take a quiet swim in the pool, uninterrupted by hordes of kids.
It seems you can’t be a hotel marketer without understanding the magic of the pool crop! The Hayriye Hanim Konagi hotel in Istanbul shows a bird’s eye view of its pool and the expansive views and it looks like a great spot to relax.
This shot really does capture the dream of a holiday in Jamaica – and the return of the ‘sexy lady’ doesn’t hurt! Just look at the view from the infinity edge …
Wow! The rooftop pool at the Amata Resort in Phuket certainly has an uninterrupted view of the city – although anyone with a fear of heights could find it a little uncomfortable…
There it is … the great big bed that’s the focus of every hotel room. Room to stretch out, relax, sleep – or whatever. Clean linen on a bed that’s way bigger than the one most of us have at home.
Living the dream! Gorgeous dad and cute kid lazing in a pool with amazingly blue water … this is what holiday dreams are made of, right?
