A marketing image on the boutique property’s website had shown a good looking surfer emerging from the hotel’s pool – with his surfboard!
Granted, The Sofitel LA is, in fact, an elegant and beautiful hotel. However, as Oyster.com revealed, a bit of, *ahem*, creative licence appears to have been applied to the hotel’s website gallery pics for its serene pool area.
In the Los Angeles hotel’s website gallery the skyline vista from the pool area looks like this:

Yes … the US holiday season trend to finding (and wearing) the ugliest Christmas sweater ever has now been elevated to 3D varieties, with this fabulous Moose ensemble part of the 2016 range from uglychristmassweater.com. The natty sweater comes with a front and back plush reindeer that attaches with velcro – and it’s unisex! You can even combine Christmas with Star Wars in a selection from the 2016 collection!
However, for all you traditionalists out there, here’s a few other stylish folk showcasing their festive attire from years gone by …
Congratulations to the three lucky winners of Travel Monitor’s Keith Urban Competition!
Heading to see Keith Urban at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne is Rhonda Smith from Executive Edge Travel; off to the Sydney show at the new ICC at Darling Harbour is Janelle Anderson from Moss Vale Cruise and Travel; and making her way to Brisbane Entertainment Centre is Rondell Herriot from Saizen Tours.
Thank you to everyone who entered – we’ll have more fantastic competitions on the new-look Travel Monitor in 2017!
December has arrived and at this time of year, some folks’ thoughts turn to great ideas for the annual family photo that will grace the family Christmas Card for 2016…here’s some inspiration for you ;)
Travel Monitor has long had a fascination for the seasonal American love affair with the ugly Christmas jumper (think reindeer, snowmen, Santas and worse!), but these are for Aussies – Ugly Xmas Rashie – the brand new summer 2016 designs, with a choice of kangaroos or koalas … and they come in adult and kid sizes.
Perfect for that hard-to-buy-for someone (sense of humour essential!) and with a UPF 50+, it’s guaranteed to protect from the summer sun.
They’re super stylish (?), sun safe and 100% Australian made, and every sale helps fund cancer research and services.
