A group of 13 agents from Australia and New Zealand recently experienced Viking’s 12-day Mid-Atlantic Crossing itinerary cruising between Lisbon and Miami aboard Viking Sun, from Portugal’s capital Lisbon.
With Viking reps, Liz Sawers, Kim Vaughan and Leon Hill, the agents enjoyed a leisurely Atlantic crossing, Viking Sun, sailed by the emerald-hued Azores, and learned about the archipelago’s historic significance as a supply station for explorers. While there they discovered colourful gardens of azaleas, hydrangeas and camellias, and explored the crater of the volcano in the Sete Cidades massif.
The group included Johanna Louise Dash, Where 2 Travel Malvern, VIC; Erin Beckford, Travel Managers, NSW; Jeff Leskey, HOOT Cruises, NZ; Byron Bobby Horne, Bicton Travel, WA; Patricia D’Angelo, Wings Away, VIC; Marisa Plenge, St Ives Travel, NSW; Carrie O’Connor, Infinity, QLD; Kate Trickett, Travel Counsellors, VIC; Martine Mary Hero, Clean Cruising (Globenet), QLD; Beverley Anne Moffat, Travel & Cruise Fundamentals, WA; Sharee Mitchell, Travelrite International, VIC; Debbie Mondon, Andrew Jones Travel,TAS; and Loretta Suzanne Abernethy, Destination HQ Beaumaris, VIC
The agents also enjoyed all on offer aboard the ship including the LivNordic spa, and the many restaurants that include the British-flavoured Bermuda. The famil also gave them the chance to try the Viking difference, including the exclusive Culture Curriculum onboard program of lectures, port talks and enriching performances and destination focused dining.
“The Mid-Atlantic Crossing was the perfect cruise for introducing agents to the Viking ocean product due to the unusual number of sea days,” says Liz Sawers, Director of Sales Viking Cruises Australia & New Zealand.
“This famil was our first ever training academy at sea, with up to four hours of training per day and complete immersion into all aspects of the ship. The agents were given the opportunity to meet key personal and have a full ship tour which included behind the scenes, the galley and LivNordic Spa.”
