Rugby fans will be able to cruise to 2011 Rugby World Cup fixtures in New Zealand.

Cruiseco, an Australia-wide consortium of travel agents, has chartered the 2000-passenger liner Rhapsody  of the Seas for the duration of the tournament and will operate two cruises, both of which will place the liner in cities for Cup quarter-final and semi-final matches, and the final.

Cruise fares are expected to start at $3270 a person twin share for an 8-night sailing round-trip from Auckland, and from $8130 for a 13-night sailing from Auckland to Sydney.

Fares will include match tickets, transfers and Cup-related entertainment on the ship.

Cruiseco is inviting registrations, saying bookings will open in January, when a 20% deposit will be required.
