MAS fights back with incentives for agents and customers

Malaysia Airlines is emerging with gusto – as it moves to restore consumer confidence and attract customers back to the airline – with the release of a series of new online deals and initiatives offering value for money flights from Australia and New Zealand.

Regional Senior Vice President of Malaysia Airlines, Lee Poh Kait, said the new initiatives are designed to inspire and encourage customers to dream, plan and book their next holiday, and help rebuild trust in Malaysia Airlines.

“We would like to thank all our travel agency partners and passengers for their relentless support during what has been a difficult period. We are committed to regaining the confidence of our customers and the industry as a trusted five-star carrier. These new rates are a very competitive offering for both travel agents and customers as we build a stronger Malaysia Airlines,” said Mr Lee.

The new offers have been launched to stimulate travel and follow the recent introduction of an 11% commission for travel agents, which is almost double the standard rate and will continue to apply to all tickets in all cabin classes for travel from Australia until 15 September.

The new offers include special ‘Spring Sensation’ deals* on sale between 1 – 21 September from as little as $495 for a return economy class airfare ticket to Kuala Lumpur and ‘You Can Weekend’ fares** starting from $557 and available to book this weekend.

Customers purchasing a ticket on Malaysia Airlines between 1 September and 31 December 2014 will also be eligible to win fantastic monthly prizes in a My Ultimate Bucket List contest.***

To enter, customers will need to tell Malaysia Airlines which destinations are on their must-see bucket list after booking their flight, with the most creative answers going into a draw to win one of 12 return economy class airfares from Australia and New Zealand to Malaysia or one of four 16GB Apple iPads with Retina display.

Malaysia Airlines has also just unveiled a new look Domestic Golden Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to meet the needs of its first and business class passengers travelling on domestic flights to and from the airport. Located at Level 3 towards the A Departure Gates, the lounge offers improved facilities and a fresh new customer experience, including a new dining area, enhanced seating capacity and a new service offering at Ayer Spa.
