Cathay stalls campaign in wake of sex scandal

15 AUG: Cathay Pacific Airways is reportedly looking at shelving a marketing campaign in the wake of a sex scandal.

The campaign describes the airline as "the team who go the extra mile to make you feel special".

But last week’s online disclosure of photographs showing a Cathay pilot and flight attendant engaged in a sex act in a cockpit has apparently stalled procedures.

They’ve since been fired.

The airline isn’t admitting publicly that the incident and campaign delay are connected.

But a report by news agency AFP quotes a spokesman as saying: "We are thinking of holding the campaign back for a while because the timing doesn’t suit us at the moment".

He noted that the "extra mile" slogan was launched last year.
