11 AUG: Auckland airport is under fire over alleged lengthy security screening delays at the domestic terminal.
It’s claimed that delays of more than 30 minutes have led to long queues and some travellers missing flights.
Air NZ has asked for an improvement in screening procedures after becoming concerned about wait times, the NZ Herald newspaper reports today.
Airport authorities say the screening area is being enlarged and the work should be completed within weeks.
Also, extra screening staff are being deployed during morning and afternoon peaks.
