30 SEP: Airport authorities in southern Florida say flying has become so stressful that more and more travellers are losing or abandoning belongings in their rush to catch planes.
More than 32,000 items have been left at the region’s airports in the past year - 10,000 more than in the previous 12 months, Miami’s Sun Sentinel newspaper reported yesterday.
"There’s anxiety with air travel", an official at Ft Lauderdale-Hollywood airport told the paper.
"We have found that people become absent-minded when they come to an airport - even people who are frequent flyers".
