14 OCT: London’s Heathrow airport will operate an ‘athletes-only’ terminal for one day after the 2012 Olympics finish.
Bosses expect 13 August to be the airport’s busiest day ever, with 137,000 departures predicted.
The temporary terminal, which will have eight security lanes, will be built in a cargo area, the Daily Mirror reports.
Nick Cole, Heathrow’s head of Olympics, said: "We will be able to process 10,100 athletes and support staff on that day in the Games terminal."
