7 NOV: A Korean Air pilot has been grounded and is under investigation after displaying dozens of messages supporting North Korea on his website.
The 45-year-old has posted more than 60 articles and video clips criticising the South Korean government and promoting North Korean propaganda, the Korea Times reports.
South Korean police raided the man’s house last month and seized his computer and books about North Korea.
South Korea’s national security law prohibits citizens from promoting or viewing pro-North Korea information, the paper says.
Worried that the pilot may fly and defect to the North, police banned him from leaving the country during the investigation and asked the country’s flagship carrier to cease his flying assignments.
Korean Air, which has cooperated with the authorities, was "embarrassed and shocked" by the revelations, according to the Los Angeles Times, quoting a company spokeswoman.
