23 NOV: An American man is suing Delta Air Lines for $2 million after allegedly suffering loss of hearing during what he said was a loud flight.
The Oregonian newspaper quotes Kent Neilson as saying in a lawsuit filed last Friday that he experienced "extreme discomfort" during a four-hour flights from Minneapolis to Portland, Oregon in April last year.
As a result, he suffered partial, but permanent, hearing loss in both ears.
He says he was not offered ear plugs, despite complaints, and he claims flight attendants admitted that other passengers complained about the noise.
Reports on the lawsuit don’t identify the aircraft type.
Delta says it doesn’t comment on pending litigation.
