31 AUG: Scandinavian carrier SAS has been named Europe’s most punctual airline for the second year in a row.
Flightstats, which monitors flight arrival and departure times, says more than 90% of SAS flights arrived on time from May to July.
By comparison, British Airways achieved an on-time factor of only 68%.
That was still well ahead UK-based low-fare airline easyJet, which reportedly managed to land only 52% of its flights on time.
London’s Telegraph newspaper says data compiled by Gatwick airport, easyJet’s main base, shows that only 48% of easyJet flights took off on time in July.
The paper says that’s even worse than Air Zimbabwe (50%), which apparently is seen as the benchmark for poor punctuality.
