7 DEC: In what must be a first for the airline industry, three women were escorted off a plane in Florida on Monday, all of them claiming they did nothing wrong.
A TV station at West Palm Beach said one woman was kicked off the AirTran flight after complaining about the way an attendant handled her overhead luggage.
A second woman was removed when she asked for help with a broken seat.
And the third was shown the exit after complaining about the removal of the first two.
None was charged with any offence.
AirTran said the women were booked on to new flights and given compensation "as a gesture of goodwill for their inconvenience".
A report doesn’t carry any explanation for the airline’s action. Nor does it say whether the three were travelling together.
