14 DEC: US airline Southwest has lodged one of the biggest aircraft orders in Boeing’s history.
The Dallas-based carrier has lodged a firm order for 150 of Boeing’s newest 737, known as the ‘737 MAX’.
The order is worth $19 billion at list prices, but Southwest, a long-time Boeing customer, is not expected to pay that much.
Indonesian carrier Lion Air last month said it will pay more than $21 billion for 250 737s, with options for an other $14 billion worth.
