12 SEP: Florida’s Port Canaveral has become the first cruise port in America to employ bomb sniffer dogs to check passenger luggage.
Two Labradors trained by the federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) began work on Friday.
The TSA has 900 sniffer dogs, but they’re deployed at 80 airports and 18 mass-transit rail stations.
Port Canaveral is home to seven liners operated by Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line and NCL.
