22 NOV: Another major cruise line has cut parasailing from its Caribbean shore options.
Norwegian Cruise Line is joining Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean in cancelling the excursions across the Caribbean in the wake of last week’s deadly accident in St. Thomas.
A 60-year-old Celebrity Eclipse passenger fell to her death while parasailing with her daughter.
The daughter, 34, was seriously injured.
Another line, Carnival, is canceling parasailing excursions in St. Thomas, but not Caribbean-wide.
However, Holland America has told newspaper USA Today that it will continue to offer parasailing at its Caribbean private island, Half Moon Cay, where the excursions are operated in-house.
