22 AUG: Avalon Waterways passengers were switched to buses on a Danube sailing last week when their vessel developed a mechanical problem.
The problem related to a propellor malfunction on Avalon Panorama, according to website cruisecritic.com
The vessel was able to continue its journey with limited speed until Friday, when it went into a dry dock in Linz, Austria to have the propellor replaced.
Avalon put passengers up in hotels in Vienna initially and then continued the original itinerary by bus, while Panorama was repaired and sailed down the river to meet them again in Krems.
Passengers were expected to rejoin the vessel there yesterday.
