What's Selling

Last cabins are selling on two Dalmatian coast cruises this month and in October aboard the CroisiEurope vessel La Belle De L’Adriatique.

Accommodating only 200 passengers, the vessel is small enough to cruise close to coastlines and moor in small harbours inaccessible to larger ships.

The sailings are selling from $1935 a person twin share, $3003 single, including all meals and French wine and beer with lunch and dinner.

Captain stuck in toilet as Finnish tourist ferry runs aground

22 AUG: A Finnish tourist ferry ran aground off Helsinki on Friday while the captain was locked in a toilet.

The island-hopping vessel, not named in reports, hit rocks.

Some of the 54 passengers suffered bruising, but there were no serious injuries.

The incident occurred as the captain struggled with the jammed lock on a toilet he’d been using.

He yelled for help, but by the time he was freed the vessel had crashed.

Reports do not say how long he was away from the controls.

But Finnish coastguard authorities are said to be investigating whether the incident amounts to criminal endangerment.
