8 AUG: Cunard liner Queen Mary 2 has scored 92 out of 100 in the second inspection in six weeks by US health authorities, website cruisecritic.com reports.
That’s much better than the score of of 84 it received from the earlier test, but still well below figures it has achieve previously, including perfect 100s.
A score of 86 is considered a minimum ‘pass’ mark.
In a statement, Cunard said: "The company has corrected all issues highlighted by the original inspection, and has subsequently successfully addressed the small number of issues raised by the re-inspection".
Under a Vessel Sanitation Program, the US Centres for Disease Control conducts two surprise cleanliness inspections a year on all liners visiting US ports.
