30 SEP: Talent scouts from German cruise line AIDA have been touring Australia this week in search of performers for the company’s shipboard entertainment programs.
Singers and dancers have been auditioned in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
AIDA casting manager Gabriele Link, who’s part of the visiting team, says the line auditions all over Europe, but this is the first time it has recruited in Australia.
"We already have some really good people from Australia and that is why we came here to find some more", she says.
AIDA is a fast-expanding brand of Miami-based Carnival Corp, owner of Carnival Australia.
The line expects to add four ships between 2012 and 2016.
