Aggressive Hong Kong tour guide loses certification

7 SEP: The female Hong Kong tour guide who made headlines around the world a few weeks ago after being seen berating Chinese tourists for not spending enough at a particular store has had her qualification certificate revoked.

A secretly-filmed clip showing Li Qiaozhen abusing members of her tour group and telling them "there is no free lunch in the world" was loaded on to the Internet and aired on TV news programs.

Angry viewers in China described her a "cruel".

Members of her tour group subsequently demanded a refund on all purchases made during the March trip.

Li has two weeks to appeal the qualification decision, and will be able to apply for new certification in six months even if the appeal is rejected.
