16 JUN: Another NZ skifield has delayed its 2011 opening because of lack of snow.
The Remarkables field, near Queenstown, was due open this Saturday.
An official has described the situation as a "massive disappointment".
Coronet Peak, also near Queenstown, delayed its scheduled 4 June opening and is still awaiting the drop in temperatures needed to produce a skiable snow cover.
Weather forecasters say there’s a good chance of freezing temperatures setting in by this weekend, with forecast rain falling as snow.
