25 MAY: A British Airways captain who bludgeoned his wife to death and buried her body in Windsor Great Park outside London has been jailed for 26 years.
A jury yesterday found Robert Brown, 47, not guilty of murder yesterday at the end of an eight-day trial.
But he had earlier admitted manslaughter by means of diminished responsibility.
He claimed he was suffering extreme stress as a result of messy divorce proceedings.
A court was told that the airline captain had become consumed with greed, desperate to win a large slice of his wife’s fortune, despite having signed a pre-nuptial agreement which prevented him from doing so.
