Bermuda police find drugs in cruise ship cabin

29 JULY: Yet another drug-user has found that a cruise ship doesn’t necessarily offer protection from the law.

An American man was hauled off NCL liner Norwegian Dawn in Bermuda last week after police found 7.66 grams of cannabis in his cabin.

On Tuesday this week the 37-year-old faced court and was fined $US1500.

Bermuda has strict laws against drug possession and uses sniffer dogs to search ships for illegal substances.

Another NCL passenger was fined the same amount last year in a similar incident.
