NEW ATEC md announces his retirement

29 JULY: Australian Tourism Export Council md Matt Hingerty today announced his intention to retire early next year on completion of a second three-year term.

ATEC chairman John King has praised him for his leadership and management.

Mr Hingerty says his proudest achievement has been fostering the industry’s youth through Young ATEC.

His job will be advertised next month.

SCUBA DEATH A US tourist has died while scuba diving in Grand Cayman in the Caribbean.The 47-year-old woman lost consciousness while ascending from a dive on Saturday. Efforts were made to revive her, but she was declared dead soon after being taken to a hospital.
