DFAT notes dengue fever outbreak in Commonwealth Games city

7 SEP: Australian Foreign Affairs is warning of an outbreak of dengue fever in Delhi, which is hosting next month’s Commonwealth Games.

The outbreak, a seasonal occurrence, is more significant than in previous years, DFAT says in an updated travel advisory.

And local authorities expect the number of cases to rise in September and October.

The advisory urges travellers to take various measures, including use of insect repellant "at all times" and the wearing of "long, loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing".
