6 MAY: Flights from Israel’s Ben-Gurion airport resumed overnight after a shutdown sparked by fears of fuel contamination.
Tankers were used to bring millions of litres of fuel to the airport as hundreds of travellers waited to catch delayed flights.
More than a dozen flights were grounded, affecting some 1500 passengers.
Transportation ministry officials have been ordered to launch an emergency investigation to determine how the contamination occurred, amid fears that it was some sort of terrorist attack.
