17 JUN: Virgin Australia boss John Borghetti was among top fundraisers in last night’s annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout around Australia, according to reports this morning.
More than 1000 of the nation’s business leaders and politicians were sleeping under the stars (or ash cloud) to help raise money for the homeless.
They included Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd (in Melbourne) and Opposition leader Tony Abbott (in Sydney).
A report this morning says the exercise had raised more than $3.6m by midnight, with Mr Borghetti’s sponsorships totalling around $54,000.
Commonwealth Bank boss Ralph Norris was leading the pack with $114,000.
Among other travel industry chiefs taking part was Hilton Worldwide vp for Australia, Ashley Spencer.
