Jetstar adding flights to Auckland ex Melbourne, Cairns

29 JULY: Jetstar will begin daily service between Melbourne and Auckland 13 December and will begin flying three times a week between Cairns and Auckland from 12 April, it announced late yesterday.

The new flights will add 92,000 seats annually to trans-Tasman operations and lift the number of return flights a week to 52.

Booking on both new routes opened yesterday, with one-way fares from $99 ex Melbourne, $129 ex Cairns.

It says that’s 20% lower than competitors are currently offering.
