Kissing in Dubai means jail

A British businessman and a tourist from the UK are facing jail in Dubai after being accused of breaking morality laws by kissing on the lips in public.

The two have already been fined more than $300 for drinking alcohol at a restaurant after another diner reported them to authorities.

A woman eating with her daughter claimed she’d seen the two kissing on the mouth and was offended.

The businessman, Ayman Najafi, 24, told Britain’s Mail on Sunday from Dubai that he had only kissed his companion on the cheek.

There’s no comment from his fellow diner.

The two have been sentenced to a month in jail and deportation, but the sentence has been put on hold pending an appeal hearing due to take place in the next few days.
