20 MAY: Two men have been charged with the armed robbery of a travel agency in Melbourne eight years ago, newspapers reported yesterday.
It’s alleged that one of the pair hid in a roof cavity of the Burke Road, Camberwell premises and confronted staff at gunpoint when they arrived at work, taking cash and travellers cheques worth about $250,000.
The two appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon, charged with armed robbery, aggravated burglary and false imprisonment, The Age newspaper reports.
They’ve been remanded in custody.
Reports do not name the travel agency, describing it only as an American Express sub-agency.
