7 JUN: A buyer has reportedly been found for NZ’s iconic Kingston Flyer tourist train, raising hopes that it will soon be back on the rails.
The previous owner went into receivership in November 2009, with debts of nearly $NZ5m.
Since then, the engine, station and part of the historic railway linking Kingston and Fairlight near Queenstown, have lain unused.
Locals say a deal with a new owner is expected to be signed this week, the Southland Times reports.
