16 MAY: The South Island resort of Queenstown has become the No.1 venue in NZ for incentive travel - including business from Australia.
New data shows the town outstripping even Auckland for multi-day incentive events.
In the 12 months to March, Queenstown hosted 43% of the ‘delegate days’ recorded for incentive travel.
Second-placed Auckland took only 21%.
Queenstown also enjoyed 36% of total Australian ‘delegate days’.
The province of Canterbury was running second for Aussie business until the 22 February Christchurch earthquake.
Australia and North America are NZ’s two biggest international travel incentive markets.
