Stella boss issues update on Jetset merger

29 JULY: Stella chief executive Peter Lacaze issued the following note early this morning.

"To keep you up to date with the proposed merger between the Jetset Travelworld Group (JTG) and Stella Travel Services, I am writing to let you know the Explanatory Memorandum describing the proposed merger between JTG and Stella Travel Services is now finalised and is available on the ASX website (www.asx.com.au).

"For your convenience the same document has been placed on both the Stella company intranet and our external website (www.stellatravel.com.au).

"JTG will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting on 6th September 2010 to allow Shareholders tovote on the proposed merger.

"This merger is a positive strategic step for both companies and the broader travel industry.

"The publication of the Explanatory Memorandum is an important milestone in the merger process and  I urge you to read the document carefully so that you get a better understanding of the two companies and the proposed transaction".
