21 JULY: An Air France flight attendant has been charged with stealing cash and jewellery from dozens of sleeping passengers.
Court documents show that the 47-year-old stewardess went through the carry-on bags of business class passengers during long-haul flights from Paris.
Police were alerted after five passengers on a flight to Tokyo found they were missing nearly $US10,000 in foreign currency, according to French newspaper Le Figaro.
The woman has reportedly confessed to 26 thefts, but police believe she has committed dozens more.
They say she had a bank safe deposit box full of jewellery, plus credit cards, cash, blank cheques and travellers cheques at her home.
If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
