AAT Kings has expanded its Short Break collection for the 2027/28 season, adding new itineraries across Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley, the Top End and Kimberley, and New Zealand’s South Island, following year-on-year growth in Short Break guest numbers.
New itineraries target flexible, shorter-length travel

The Sydney, Blue Mountains & Hunter Valley Escape combines Sydney’s harbour precinct with Blue Mountains landscapes and Hunter Valley food and wine experiences, positioned as either a standalone break or an extension to a longer trip. The Top End to Kimberley Adventure covers two of Australia’s more remote regions in a single shorter itinerary, incorporating Aboriginal culture and outback experiences. The South Island Discovery in New Zealand includes rail journeys and alpine scenery within a more flexible format than AAT Kings’ standard longer touring product.
Ben Hall, chief executive of AAT Kings Group, said the collection responds to growing demand for shorter, higher-value trips. “Our new Short Break collection adds to this offering, and is designed to deliver the depth and quality of a longer journey in a shorter timeframe,” Hall said.
Short Breaks sit within broader new season sale

AAT Kings cited Tourism Research Australia’s 2025 Annual Benchmark Report as pointing to growth in shorter domestic travel options, with Australians favouring shorter trips and closer-to-home holidays amid ongoing cost-of-living pressures.
The Short Break collection forms part of AAT Kings’ broader New Season Sale, offering savings of up to $2,200 per couple in Australian dollars, or up to $2,800 per couple in New Zealand dollars, on selected 2027/28 departures. The offer is available for bookings made by 30 September 2026, for travel between 1 April 2027 and 31 March 2028, and is combinable with brochure discounts including Global Tour Rewards, but not with other promotions. AAT Kings has also refreshed its A-LISTERS trade hub with updated sales tools and campaign assets to support advisors selling the new season.
For agents with clients seeking a shorter guided holiday, or looking to extend an existing Australia or New Zealand itinerary, the expanded Short Break range gives a packaged option combining guided touring with independent exploration time, without requiring a full multi-week commitment.
