Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) and EVA Air recently concluded the “Waves of Wonder” Famil Trip, an exclusive educational experience for Queensland-based travel agents.
Held from October 7 to October 14, the trip aimed to highlight Taiwan’s diverse cultural heritage, cuisine, and stunning natural landscapes, offering Australian travel professionals an in-depth understanding of the destination.
Showcasing Taiwan to Australian Travel Professionals
The famil trip hosted representatives from several leading Australian travel agencies, including MTA, Savenio, Travel Managers, V Travel Network, and others. The group, led by TTA Representative Ganessan Suppiah, explored Taiwan’s key attractions, gaining first-hand insights into the island’s rich offerings.
Over the week-long journey, participants visited various destinations such as Kaohsiung, Tainan, Chiayi, Taichung, and Taipei. Highlights of the itinerary included:
- Riding the Taiwan High Speed Rail, providing seamless travel between cities.
- Visiting the Ten Drum Cultural Village, showcasing Taiwan’s traditional drum culture.
- Exploring the Museum of Old Taiwan Tiles, reflecting the island’s historical artistry.
- Discovering Indigenous handicraft valleys and ancient temples.
- Experiencing the lively Taiwan Night Markets and the iconic Taipei 101.
- Enjoying a serene stay at Sun Moon Lake, one of Taiwan’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

Participants were enthusiastic about the trip. Frances Ng of All Way Travel commented, “Kaohsiung City is a wonderful blend of a bustling harbour city and beautiful countryside. Maolin National Park’s Purple Butterfly Valley is breathtaking; no photography skills are required as the landscape speaks for itself.”
