Anantara marks 25 years with new slow travel and wellbeing experiences

Anantara Hotels & Resorts is marking its 25th anniversary with a collection of signature experiences focused on slow travel, wellbeing and deeper connection to place, spanning properties in Thailand, the Maldives and Italy.

Available across more than 50 Anantara properties throughout 2026, the anniversary program reflects growing interest in travel experiences centred on rest, mindfulness and meaningful local engagement rather than fast-paced sightseeing.

Slow travel takes centre stage

At Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel in Italy, guests can join Friar Marcus in the property’s terraced gardens to learn about Mediterranean botanicals and monastic herbs before continuing into the Chef’s Garden.

The experience also includes a sound healing ritual within the former convent and a picnic featuring artisan breads, garden produce and aged cheeses overlooking the Amalfi Coast.

In northern Thailand, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort offers a 90-minute journey aboard its teakwood boat, Nam Jai, along the Mae Ping River. The experience passes riverside temples and the Wat Ket community before continuing on foot to Wat Ket Karam and Khua Kaek Bridge.

An alms-giving ceremony is followed by a Lanna khantoke lunch beneath 400-year-old Bodhi trees at the resort’s Bodhi Terrace.

Wellness and stargazing feature in Maldives and Phuket

At Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, the anniversary experience centres on the resort’s SKY overwater observatory.

Guests can take part in a guided stargazing session using what Anantara describes as the Maldives’ most powerful telescope, viewing planets, constellations and distant galaxies above the Indian Ocean.

At Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, the experience begins with a personalised consultation at Layan Life by Anantara, followed by sound healing and Pao Ya heated herbal therapy.

The day concludes with sunset, stargazing and Champagne overlooking the Andaman Sea.

Anniversary program taps demand for wellness travel

The program gives travel advisors another way to position Anantara for clients seeking premium wellness and slow travel experiences, particularly those interested in combining luxury accommodation with locally rooted cultural or restorative activities.

Each anniversary experience has been developed around its destination, allowing the brand to retain a consistent wellness theme while tailoring the product to local landscape, culture and traditions.

The collection remains available throughout 2026 as part of Anantara’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
