A group of eight travel agents from Australia and New Zealand recently returned from an enriching visit to the island of Ireland, hosted by Tourism Ireland from 28 August to 4 September.
The week-long familiarisation tour was designed to deepen the agents’ knowledge of Ireland’s diverse tourism experiences, while strengthening the destination’s position on future client itineraries.
The immersive journey showcased Ireland’s rich culture, history and natural beauty — from equestrian experiences and rope bridges to seaweed baths and historic castles. It included visits to Killeavy Castle Estate, Donegal Castle, and the National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park. In Belfast, the agents joined a guided food tour with Taste & Tour before heading along the scenic Causeway Coast for a sea safari with Aquaholics and a visit to the iconic Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.
Cultural highlights included a walking tour of the city walls in Derry~Londonderry, a tour of the Peacemakers Museum, a sheepdog demonstration with Atlantic Sheepdogs, and immersive food experiences in Dublin. The group also explored the Shed Distillery, the Irish National Stud & Gardens, and the famed Book of Kells Experience at Trinity College.
