Australian travellers and the travel trade are set to benefit from a sharp increase in airline capacity to Asia, with Singapore Airlines, China Southern and T’way Air adding services across Adelaide, Perth and Sydney from late 2026.
The new flights will improve access to Singapore, Guangzhou and Seoul while also opening additional connections across Asia and beyond. For advisors, the expansion creates more itinerary options and greater competition on several important international routes.
Singapore Airlines boosts Adelaide frequency
Singapore Airlines will increase flights between Adelaide and Singapore to 12 services a week from 25 October 2026.
The additional capacity will strengthen South Australia’s access to Singapore and provide more connecting opportunities through Changi Airport to destinations across Asia, Europe and other parts of the airline’s network.
The move also gives South Australian travellers more flexibility when planning international journeys, particularly during periods of strong outbound demand.
For the trade, the expanded schedule creates more options for clients travelling for leisure, business or to visit friends and relatives, while supporting Singapore’s role as one of Australia’s most important international aviation hubs.
China Southern expands Perth and Adelaide links
China Southern will move to daily services between Perth and Guangzhou and between Adelaide and Guangzhou during the December peak period.
The additional flights will increase capacity between Australia and mainland China at one of the busiest times of the year, supporting holiday travel and the visiting friends and relatives market.
Guangzhou also provides onward connections across China and to other international destinations, giving advisors another option for clients building wider Asian itineraries.
The daily schedule should make both routes easier to package and sell, while helping improve access for inbound Chinese travellers visiting Western Australia and South Australia.
T’way Air adds daily Sydney–Seoul service
South Korean carrier T’way Air will introduce daily flights between Sydney and Seoul from October 2026.
The increased frequency will strengthen direct capacity between Australia and South Korea, a market that continues to attract interest for food, culture, entertainment and touring holidays.
Daily flights will provide more choice for Australian travellers heading to Seoul and improve opportunities for onward connections throughout South Korea and the wider region.
The service also adds competition on the Sydney–Seoul corridor, giving advisors more flexibility when comparing schedules, fares and airline products for their clients.
Additional capacity supports regional tourism growth
Together, the new services point to growing confidence in travel demand between Australia and Asia as airlines build their schedules into 2027.
The expansion is particularly significant for Adelaide and Perth, where additional international capacity can reduce reliance on connections through eastern Australian gateways.
For inbound tourism, the flights also create more opportunities to attract visitors from China, South Korea and Southeast Asia into Australian cities and regional destinations.
With more seats, improved frequency and stronger connectivity entering the market, the travel trade will have greater scope to build competitive Asian holidays and multi-destination itineraries for the 2026–27 season.
