Australian Cruise Association Launches 2024/2025 Toolkit

The Australian Cruise Association (ACA) has released its 2024/2025 Cruise Toolkit, offering a comprehensive outlook for the upcoming season, complete with national and state-by-state insights.

The toolkit, designed to assist industry professionals in preparing their cruise planning, follows a record-breaking 2023/2024 season that highlighted the strong rebound of Australia’s cruise sector.

Key achievements from the 2023/2024 season include:

  • A record economic contribution of A$8.43 billion to the national economy
  • Over 26,000 jobs supported across Australia
  • 1,650 cruise ship visits to 49 ports and anchorages nationwide
  • Nearly 4.3 million passenger visit days recorded

Looking ahead to the 2024/2025 season, more than 60 cruise ships are expected to visit Australian shores, stopping at 50 ports and anchorages. This season will also feature five maiden calls from major cruise lines, including Silversea’s Silver Nova, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Sun, Princess Cruises’ Crown Princess, Cunard’s Queen Anne, and Ponant’s Paspaley Pearl.

With an extensive range of itineraries, travellers will have the opportunity to explore iconic destinations such as Sydney Harbour and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as hidden gems in Tasmania and Western Australia. The new season promises a continued boost to local economies, with passengers supporting businesses and communities across the country.

The Cruise Toolkit, created with support from state and territory tourism organisations, provides essential data and insights for the 2024/2025 season. This resource is expected to be invaluable for the travel trade as they navigate the growing appeal of Australia as a premier cruise destination.
