Gozney has released a list of Australia’s top road trip routes, with the gorgeous Perth to Kalbarri National Park route claiming the top spot.
The pizza oven brand has collated their list of top trips by analysing 40 of Australia’s most popular trips based on the number of campsites, hiking trails, viewpoints, beaches and national parks. With Australia’s wealth of breathtaking landscapes and vibrant food and beverage scenes, there’s no shortage of stunning trips across the country.

Here are Gozney’s top five picks:
Number 5: Pacific Coast Way (Brisbane to Port Douglas or Cape Tribulation)
Gozney awarded this route a 9.5 of a possible score of 10 in the beach category, with the trip winding through the world-famous Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays. With a journey tracing nearly the whole coast of the Sunshine State, this trip is sure to offer stunning views and hiking opportunities, is slightly lacking in the availability of camping sites throughout, scoring only 5/10 in this area. However, the route makes up for these shortcomings with beautiful rainforest and coastal trails, and the opportunity to visit iconic Australian locations like Bundaberg’s rum distillery.
Number 4: Great Sunshine Way (Brisbane to Bundaberg, then back to Brisbane)
With highlights like waterfront campsites at the Cotton Tree Holiday Park making the route an impressive 8/10 on Gozney’s ranking for camping, it is a great option for lovers of the outdoors. Impressive coastal scenery including Noosa Main Beach also earned the trip a 9/10 for beaches.
Number 3: The Legendary Pacific Coast (Sydney to Brisbane)
This magnificent road trip broaches state borders, taking travellers from Sydney, New South Wales, to Brisbane, Queensland. This journey has a mix of stunning, untouched landscapes – including national parks like Wyrrabalong and Dorrigo – and iconic Australian regions like Byron Bay.
Number 2: Sydney to Byron Bay Coastal Drive
This route is excellent for those wanting a taste of everything, with beaches, hiking, and camping spots readily available along the way. Sydney and Byron Bay are both stunning destinations, with the former offering a bustling big city experience and the latter a taste of the slow coastal lifestyle.
Number 1: Perth to Kalbarri National Park
Gozney awards Perth to Kalbarri National Park an almost-perfect score, with 10/10 for camping, national parks, and beaches, and hiking trails not too far behind at 9/10. The stunning coastline drive allows for scenes of beaches, wildflowers and cliffs – and that’s just the journey, with the vibrant starting city of Perth also a highlight in itself.
