Best Western Hotels & Resorts has added the idyllic South Coast NSW Resort, Lincoln Downs Resort in Batemans Bay to its network.
Lincoln Downs Resort, BW Signature Collection is a boutique country retreat overlooking a picturesque private lake and gardens at the vibrant seaside town of Batemans Bay in the South Coast of NSW.
Managing Director of Best Western Hotels & Resorts for Australasia Graham Perry, said “we’re delighted to welcome Lincoln Downs Resort, BW Signature Collection to the Best Western network as part of our Signature Collection soft brand, in conjunction with Mandala Asset Solution.”
The recently renovated, 34-room Lincoln Downs Resort property is perfect for business travel, romantic escapes, girls’ weekends away and weddings. It features a heated outdoor pool, tennis court and lakeside gazebo, as well as Briars Restaurant, which creates contemporary Australian cuisine.
“Importantly, having a South Coast property within the idyllic Eurobodalla region also provides our corporate, leisure and 38 million Rewards guests with another high calibre destination in which to stay, complementing our presence in nearby Canberra, Queanbeyan, Goulburn and Wollongong,” Perry added.
Following a devastating start to the bushfire season and the ongoing drought, Graham Perry has called on all Australians to support their regional neighbours this year.
“With severe fires across numerous locations and a relentless drought, regional Australia needs our support right now and more than ever,” explained Perry.
“If there were ever a year when we should be making the effort to holiday at home, this is it. Tourism plays a critical role in assisting a town’s economy recovery following natural disasters.
“The unprecedented impact of these early bushfires, coupled with a crippling drought, has meant that it’s immensely important that we band together to support our regional areas. Travelling to affected areas, but only once the danger has passed provides much needed moral support and income into local businesses and assists with the rebuilding efforts.”
BWH Hotel Group, which incorporates Best Western Hotels & Resorts, Sure Stay and World Hotels, has a strong regional presence within its portfolio of 100 hotels across Australia.
“Fortunately, most of our hotels have remained out of the direct line of the fires and are undamaged, although several locations, most notably Coffs Harbour and Batemans Bay, have been impacted economically by a significant decrease in visitor numbers.”
“What better way to donate your much-needed funds to regional Australia than to visit. Not only will you be donating your funds, but you will be helping rebuild the morale of the region you visit whilst having a world class tourism experience along the way. Now that’s what I call a win, win, win.”
“Guests are asked to remain up to date about fire conditions via the NSW Rural Fire Service “Fires Near Me” website, Queensland’s Rural Fire website and via Emergency Broadcasts on the ABC.”
“To help, we’ve also prepared a list of tips on being a water-savvy guest.”
The new ‘bucket challenge’ – Water saving tips for guests in drought affected areas
1) For stays in hotels in severely drought affected regions, consider offering to pop a bucket under the shower to collect the water while it’s heating to be used to water plants or for other secondary uses.
2) Be self-reliant and bring your own bottled water. On a drive holiday in the car? Bring your own drinking water to decrease your need to tap into the limited local water supply.
3) Ask housekeeping not to change your towels. At many Best Western hotels within Australia, if you choose to forgo having your towels changed and your room made up daily, you can be rewarded with extra Best Western Rewards loyalty points to put towards your next stay.
4) Don’t get the hotel to launder your clothes unless absolutely necessary.
5) Take shorter showers – it’s recommended to make them less than 3 minutes. Showers use between six to 11 litres of water per minute on average.
6) Don’t wash your hair daily (your hair and the environment will thank you!)
7) Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
8) Turn off the tap while shaving. If necessary, request a plug from reception for the basin.
