Bunnik Tours adds Bhutan and Mongolia itineraries

Bunnik Tours has launched two new small group tours to its Asia collection, a 13-day Best of Bhutan itinerary and a 16-day Mongolian Explorer trip, both departing from 2027.

Bhutan tour centres on Buddhist tradition and Himalayan landscapes

The Best of Bhutan covers Thimphu, Paro and the Gangtey region, including a traditional butter lamp lighting ceremony, a monastic lunch with monks at Gangtey Shedra, and a Bhutanese archery session using traditional bamboo bows and arrows. The itinerary also visits fortress-monasteries and traditional villages, with the first departure scheduled for March 2027 and multiple dates available across the year.

Bunnik Tours product design specialist Priscilla Aster said the destination fit the operator’s broader positioning around less-visited destinations. “Bhutan and Mongolia are a perfect fit for our Asia collection, with their incredible landscapes and fascinating cultures. Both offer travellers a chance to experience a side of Asia that remains largely untouched by mass tourism,” Aster said.

Mongolia itinerary includes homestays and Gobi Desert

The 16-day Mongolian Explorer itinerary travels from Ulaanbaatar through Khustai National Park, the Orkhon Valley and the Gobi Desert, with most nights spent in traditional ger camps. Experiences include a homestyle lunch with a Kazakh family in Nalaikh, time with a local herder family in the Orkhon Valley, and a dumpling-making cooking class. The first departure is scheduled for May 2027, with further dates across the year.

Bunnik Tours operations, product and private touring general manager Annelieke Huijgens, who recently travelled the itinerary, said the destination stood out for its scale and cultural preservation. “Mongolia is truly a bucket-list destination, with vast areas that remain largely untouched and a strong commitment to preserving its unique culture and traditions,” Huijgens said.

Both itineraries are included in Bunnik Tours’ Asia Sale 2027, with travellers able to save up to $500 per person when booking by 9 October 2026. Group sizes are capped at 20 guests.
