Western Sydney has welcomed a major new hospitality landmark with the opening of Cabravale Club Resort in Cabramatta.
Thousands turned out for a full-day celebration marking the debut of Australia’s first integrated club resort and the transformation of the century-old Cabra-Vale Diggers into a contemporary destination for dining, entertainment, accommodation and events.
A landmark launch for Western Sydney

The opening event showcased the region’s culture and diversity, featuring lion dancers, live performers, fireworks and a drone show. Special guests Guy and Jules Sebastian joined the celebrations, highlighting the work of The Sebastian Foundation, with Guy delivering a surprise performance.
The milestone follows a multi-year redevelopment project that reimagines the club’s historic origins into a modern entertainment precinct. The official ribbon cutting was led by state and community leaders, with congratulatory remarks from the Premier.
A new destination for tourism and events
Cabravale Club Resort brings together a range of new offerings designed to elevate Western Sydney’s visitor economy. The 140-room Novotel Sydney Cabramatta features a resort-style pool, gym and flexible event spaces, while the dining portfolio spans multiple venues including Magma by Dany Karam, Bistro 1925, District 8, Horizon and Poppy Café.
The precinct also includes one of the region’s largest event and conference centres, with a 600-seat venue already in operation and a 1,000-seat convention centre planned for the next stage of development.
Building on 100 years of community
The launch caps a significant anniversary year for the club, which marked its 100th year in July with a new name and brand. Club leadership emphasised the importance of honouring its heritage while creating a destination that reflects the growth, ambition and diversity of Western Sydney today.
The redevelopment also strengthens the club’s community initiatives through Cabravale Community, supporting local programs and national partnerships including youth mental health initiatives.
Cabravale Club Resort is set to continue expanding, with new dining concepts and an additional café already in planning.
