Cathay Pacific has reopened The Bridge at Hong Kong International Airport, unveiling a thoughtfully redesigned space as part of a major lounge enhancement plan at its home hub.
Located near Departure Gate 35 in Terminal 1, The Bridge returns with refreshed interiors, new dining concepts and human-centric design features that place guest comfort and personalisation at the core of the experience.
This reopening marks the first phase of Cathay Pacific’s extensive global lounge revitalisation program, which includes planned renovations of The Wing lounges in Hong Kong and the launch of new flagship lounges in Beijing and New York.
A refined space for relaxation and comfort
Designed to feel like a welcoming home, The Bridge features warm cherry wood finishes, black granite and travertine surfaces, lush greenery, and original art from the airline’s “Gallery in the Skies” collection. The lounge blends residential design cues with premium functionality, creating an elevated pre-flight retreat.
Cathay Pacific’s General Manager of Customer Experience Design, Guillaume Vivet, said every element — from scent and music to seating and lighting — has been crafted with purpose.
“Our goal was to create a space that feels genuinely welcoming — one that reflects our commitment to thoughtful, human-centric design,” he said.
Culinary experiences on both sides of The Bridge
The left-hand side of the lounge features Cathay’s iconic Noodle Bar, serving up fan favourites like wonton noodles and dim sum, along with new Chinese dishes such as biangbiang mian and braised beef shin. This section also introduces The Nook, a new dining concept with small plates, savoury filled bao, crispy scallion pancakes, and more — served in a cosy setting reminiscent of local Hong Kong eateries.
On the right-hand side, First class guests and Diamond members can enjoy an elevated experience in a dedicated zone. Here, the Food Hall delivers hearty comfort fare like beef bourguignon and vegetable bakes, complemented by fresh pastries and vibrant salads.
The Bar, with sweeping views of the runway, offers Champagne, cocktails, and barista coffee, while a relaxation area outfitted with bespoke Solo Chairs completes the indulgent experience.
Innovation meets tradition
Soon, The Bridge will be the first Cathay Pacific lounge to introduce biometric check-in, streamlining the entry experience while maintaining a staffed reception for personalised service.
With renovations beginning this month on The Wing, First, and planned enhancements to The Deck and The Wing, Business, Cathay Pacific’s commitment to delivering premium lounge experiences remains strong.
