CATO and Axelo to help travel businesses navigate AI adoption

The Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) is partnering with cybersecurity specialist Axelo to deliver a webinar aimed at helping travel businesses adopt artificial intelligence safely and responsibly.

The online session will take place on 4 August at 11:00 AEST and will focus on the opportunities and risks associated with AI use in the travel sector.

Focus on security and compliance

The webinar will be led by Axelo CEO Nik Devidas and cover practical topics including where AI can genuinely improve business efficiency, how to assess the accuracy of AI-generated content, and the risks associated with using free AI tools.

It will also examine AI agents, ownership of AI-generated content, Australian privacy law obligations and provide participants with a practical one-page AI policy template.

Supporting members through change

CATO Director and Education lead Mira Yates said many members are interested in adopting AI but are seeking guidance on how to do so securely and effectively.

Devidas said AI has the potential to improve productivity across travel businesses, but businesses also need to ensure appropriate cybersecurity measures and staff training are in place to manage emerging risks.

The webinar is open to ATIA members, with registrations available online.
